FACT: Surfing the web and using email is a part of daily life.
FACT: Criminals capitalize on this to their advantage, flooding the Internet with over 100,000 new attacks every day, in an effort to steal your identity or turn your computer into a \zombie\ to launch email spam and other Internet crimes.
FACT: Over 70 million users worldwide trust ESET to defend themselves from these attacks.
ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 is the most effective protection you can find to combat today\s huge volumes of Internet and email threats. It provides comprehensive antivirus and antispyware protection without affecting your computer\s performance.
Using advanced ThreatSense technology, ESET NOD32 Antivirus proactively protects you from new attacks, even during the critical first hours when other vendors\ products aren\t aware the attack even exists. ESET NOD32 Antivirus detects and disables both known and unknown viruses, trojans, worms, adware, spyware, rootkits and other Internet threats.
ESET NOD32 Antivirus is also one of the fastest antivirus solutions, so fast you won\t even notice it running. And it\s both incredibly easy to use yet simple to tailor for your specific needs.
Key Benefits
Protection from the Unknown â Award-winning ThreatSense technology uses multiple layers of threat detection to deliver the most effective protection possible against new attacks. And ThreatSense is smart; it raises far fewer annoying \false alarms\ than any other products that use heuristics.
Finds Malware Other AV Companies Missed â Typically when a new copy of ESET NOD32 replaces another antivirus product on a home computer the average user finds viruses or malware resident on the machine that were undetected by their previous antivirus product.
Built for Speed â ESET NOD32 Antivirus is lightning fast, so fast you won\t even notice it\s there. Even disk-intensive operations like performing a \full disk scan\ to run smoothly in the background while you work or play.
Easy on Your System â ESET NOD32 Antivirus is \lean and mean,\ typically using just 44 MB of memory, a fraction of what other products consume. Because it\s fast and \light,\ upgrading your existing antivirus protection to ESET NOD32 Antivirus can literally be like buying a new computer. And the new automatic energy-sipping battery mode lets you work or play longer.
Easy on You â ESET NOD32 Antivirus is easier to use than ever before. From its compact and intuitive user interface to its minimal use of alerts, you\ll be up and running in a snap. You will receive the best possible proactive detection against malware, without enduring excessive system slowdowns and alerts, reboots or annoying false alarms.
What\s New
Smarter Scanner â Threats don\t always enter your network in ways you expect. ESET NOD32 Antivirus inspects SSL-encrypted communication channels like HTTPS and POP3S and intelligently scans compressed files to find hidden threats other products miss. Proactive protection begins at the earliest point in system startup to ensure your computer is always secure.
Clean and Safe Email â Email scanning for Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail, and other POP3/IMAP mail clients, ensuring your email is free of viruses and other threats.
Removable Media Security â Threats can enter your PC from removable media such as USB thumb drives. For self-running media, ESET NOD32 Antivirus scans autorun.inf and associated files when the medium is inserted, in addition to scanning any file on any removable device when it is accessed, or during a full-scan of the media. Power users can adjust ESET NOD32 Antivirus to perform additional levels of scanning on removable media.
System Tools â ESET SysInspector and ESET SysRescue simplify diagnosing and cleaning of infected systems by allowing deep scans of system processes to find hidden threats, and creating bootable rescue CD/DVD or USB drives to help you repair an infected computer.
Self Defense â ESET NOD32 Antivirus has built-in technology to prevent malicious software from corrupting or disabling it, so you can rest assured your system is always protected.
Many Usability Improvements â ESET NOD32 Antivirus has numerous speed, security and usability upgrades.
* Energy-sipping battery mode extends laptop battery life without compromising security
* Advanced Protection Status screen informs you of threat detections
* Information pop-ups are hidden when running full screen applications like games, video players or presentations
* Password protection prevents ESET NOD32 Antivirus from being uninstalled by strangers
* New interface and keyboard shortcuts simplify use for visually impaired users.

Please do not do what that one person suggested and download a torrent or use limewire to get Free Antivirus. You do not need to. There are a few free antivirus programs and you can read about them in the link below. Reviews are given as well. Only install one antivirus program because if you have more than one with real time protection they will conflict or not work properly.

If you have viruses, I bet you have adware and spyware. Two good free programs for antispyware are Malwarebyte's Antimalware and SUPERAntiSpyware. http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-adware-spyware-scumware-remover.htm

AVG, Avast! and Avira all do free editions of their software, but they are not as good as the paid versions and give you limited protection from online threats.
Any one of these is better than no protection at all, but you should consider paying for a good antivirus/ internet security program if you value your data and personal privacy.
Have a look at http://www.datadefender.net for reviews and download links for the latest software from the major antivirus companies.

You need to install a good antivirus software. The most prevelant amongst the free antivirus are AVG free and Mc Afee. I personally recommend AVG free. You will need to update its antivirus database daily, that will keep latest virus away from your computer. And also you need to take care of some basic things.
1. Always scan the removable drives like USB, Flash drives, etc whenever you insert into your computer before opening.
2. You need not surf those sites that may contain the malicious contents.
3. Avoid using free softwares whom you cannot trust.

i advise to use avira premium security you can get 3 month 4 month license for free and tests proved that it detect about 98 or 99% of virus and spyware
arabtornado @ 2009-06-02 03:37:18
I believe a mix of the leading products (Avira, Avast, Nod32, Kaspersky, McAfee, Norton, Malwarebytes, AdAware, SpuBot) are good solutions whether you buy them or get the FREE versions. The core engines of these products take care of viruses, adware or spyware or malware exceptionally well. You just have to pick which ones do what...
FIRST, for ANTI-VIRUS, I would recommend Avira which is FREE: Avira Antivir Personal: http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html
A good BUY anti-virus/anti-malware product is Kaspersky: http://download.cnet.com/Kaspersky-Internet-Security/3000-2239_4-10012072.html
You can also try, for FREE, Avast as an alternative anti-virus solution:
Avast 4 Home: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Home-Edition/3000-2239_4-10019223.html
Avira's Antivir has a detection rate of over 99%, includes "root-kit" protection, and uses less system resources. Avast detection rate is around 97.8% and includes "root-kit" protection. Avast Anti-Virus is good if people suggest that, Avira is just slightly better.
Kaspersky, Nod32, McAfee and Norton are high up on the same list with Avira, Avast, etc…) You could try AVG, but AVG’s detection rate is less than 85% for Script Malware and General Malware, and does NOT include "root-kit" protection in the FREE version…
Here's a good report (Feb 2009) on many of the top AV (anti-virus) products.
http://www.av-comparatives.org/images/stories/test/ondret/avc_report21.pdf
Avira came out as one of the top AV products in the testing. AVG was not nearly as high mainly due to AVG NOT detecting a lot of Script Malware and General Malware problems in the tests, plus, slower scan speeds and a higher number of "false positives".
SECOND, also make sure you have the right mix of product(s) so you have BOTH
ANTI-VIRUS AND ANTI-SPYWARE/MALWARE software running on your computer.
A good FREE mix could be Avira and Malwarebytes, with McAfee Site Advisor (FREE) installed as well. Avira Antivir Personal: http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html - Malwarebytes - http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
Or, a good BUY/FREE mix could be Kaspersky and AdAware (or Malwarebytes), with McAfee Site Advisor.
Kaspersky: http://download.cnet.com/Kaspersky-Internet-Security/3000-2239_4-10012072.html
Ad-Aware - http://download.cnet.com/Ad-Aware-Anniversary-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html
Hopefully, you get my main points of core features AND the mix of solutions. You just have to get those 2 things right and you're covered!

But they need the assistance of you Internet Service Provider. They're the ones who assign you an IP address.
Omaha @ 2009-06-02 01:25:30
Yes ofcource .without ip itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..
USaually the email and face book uses username and pasword to login.
getiing username and pasword is so easy..
1) Using keylogger.. if loggers is in your computer they saves all the letters u have typed through keyboard and send this information to the hacker when u get connectted to internet . SO here ip of ur pc is not recured.
2) Man in Middle attack.
During authentication your computer exchange information regarding username and password through insecure network. If hacker picks this packet and examines it will be revealed. But due to encryption technique the information will be corrupted..
so as to get inforamtion
step1) hacker will send u a trust certificate which is fake from gmail, facebook etc your pc accepts it and stores in pc.
step2) using this cerficate the username an pasword get encrypted and send ,which is being examined and revealed. And hccker gives u the page u have requested and u wont feel the presence of hacker there.

For getting space in server:Its free here in:

Deeps @ 2009-06-02 01:58:34
Yes if only u are a Home User or office user with a simple internet to lan connection and thus ur PC will be given a unique public IP address to acess the internet so if the hacker had successfully installed a virus into ur PC it wont be too difficult frm then on for him to find out everything about u including ur account wherever u have made them.but if ur accessing the internet frm a cyber cafe ull be usin a lot of different PC every time u use a PC so its less likely hell be successful. To be on the safe sinde a good firewall program is required and a good antivirus software is needed.

Techy M @ 2009-06-02 02:33:27
E-mail spam, also known as junk e-mail, is a subset of spam that involves nearly identical messages sent to numerous recipients by e-mail. A common synonym for spam is unsolicited bulk e-mail (UBE). Definitions of spam usually include the aspects that email is unsolicited and sent in bulk.
E-mail spam has steadily, even exponentially grown since the early 1990s to several billion messages a day. Spam has frustrated, confused, and annoyed e-mail users. Laws against spam have been sporadically implemented, with some being opt-out and others requiring opt in e-mail. The total volume of spam (over 100 billion emails per day as of April 2008[update]) has leveled off slightly in recent years, and is no longer growing exponentially. The amount received by most e-mail users has decreased, mostly because of better filtering. About 80% of all spam is sent by fewer than 200 spammers. Botnets, networks of virus-infected computers, are used to send about 80% of spam. Since the cost of the spam is borne mostly by the recipient,[6] it is effectively postage due advertising.

Jaggu @ 2009-06-02 02:34:52
It is widely believed the term spam is derived from the 1970 Monty Python SPAM sketch, set in a cafe where nearly every item on the menu includes SPAM luncheon meat. As the waiter recites the SPAM-filled menu, a chorus of Viking patrons drowns out all conversations with a song repeating "SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM... lovely SPAM, wonderful SPAM", hence "SPAMming" the dialogue. The excessive amount of SPAM mentioned in the sketch is a reference to British rationing during World War II. SPAM was one of the few meat products that avoided rationing, and hence was widely available.
Although the first known instance of unsolicited commercial e-mail occurred in 1978 (unsolicited electronic messaging had already taken place over other media, with the first recorded instance being via telegram in May 1864), the term "spam" for this practice had not yet been applied. In the 1980s the term was adopted to describe certain abusive users who frequented BBSs and MUDs, who would repeat "SPAM" a huge number of times to scroll other users' text off the screen. In early Chat rooms services like PeopleLink and the early days of AOL, they actually flooded the screen with quotes from the Monty Python Spam sketch. This was used as a tactic by insiders of a group that wanted to drive newcomers out of the room so the usual conversation could continue. It was also used to prevent members of rival groups from chatting -- for instance, Star Wars fans often invaded Star Trek chat rooms, filling the space with blocks of text until the Star Trek fans left. This act, previously called flooding or trashing, came to be known as spamming. The term was soon applied to a large amount of text broadcasted by many users.
Rockey @ 2009-06-02 02:37:55
well, the word spam first meant "stupid person's annoying message"
now we use the word to refer to many different things, eg junk mail.
spam is just unsolicited mail that tries to get you to be a customer of a product/service, or trying to annoy you. nowadays, spam email are about 80% viagra advertising.

SPAM is nothing but message from some sick and annoying persons who misuse da e-mail facilities to disturb others. some times these interupting e-mailing is used by some hackers by sending u SPAMS containig virus so dat u open it and dat virus automatically installed in ur compu hard disc, and dat can damage ur softwares and even ur OS.
in short SPAM is nothing bt some annoying mails may b containing viruses.

Malware removal procedure:
Step 1: Download and Run Hijack This! http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-Hij...
Step 2: After running it, copy and paste the report into hijackthis.de
Step 3: Go back into Hijack This!, find the entries that have been flagged as harmful, and delete them.
Step 4: Install and run malwarebytes anti-malware http://www.malwarebytes.org/
If step 4 has issues, boot into Safe mode by restarting and repeatedly pressing F8. Select it, run malwarebytes again, and it should unhook some processes.
It turns out bleeping computer has the same recommendation as I do.

As someone who is working at UC San Diego's ResNet (we do manual virus removals) and someone who's dealt with the same virus on multiple machines, I would disagree with Goutam, you should actually disable your System Restore, malware loves to embed itself in the restore point and come right out again when you thought your system is clean.
Start > right click My Computer > properties > (in Vista, left hand menu Advanced Settings) > , System Restore tab, check "turn off system restore", click OK when prompted to delete previous restore points.
Run MBAM, then go back here and uncheck it so system restore will work once more after the system is clean.
